Need to submit an assignment? Now you don’t need to beg, borrow or steal a scanner, or drive to Postnet to submit your assignment. If you have a smart phone, you have a scanner in your pocket. Simply install and use the CamScanner app.
How to use CamScanner
Install the CamScanner app on your phone.
Register or sign in. If you are registering for the first time you will need to provide an email address or a phone number as well as a password. A confirmation link will be sent to you – tap on this link to activate your account.
Prepare your assignment and lay it out on a flat surface.
After you have signed in to your account you will see a camera icon. Tap the icon to open camera mode.
Select Batch mode (for more than one page) or Single mode for only one page. These are selected by tapping the icons next to the camera icon.
Hold the your phone steadily over the assignment page – make sure you can see the whole page on your screen. Press the camera icon to take a photo of the page. Repeat the process for multiple pages.
Review the image. You can drag the handles on the side of the image to centre the image and trim. Once you are happy with the image you can tap the tick symbol to save the image. The image will then be cropped and enhanced. You can make final adjustments at this stage if you need to, such as brightening the image. Press the tick icon again to complete the process.
You can now rename the image (the default name is New Doc). Tap the name of the file to rename it. You will see a sharing icon at the top of the screen. When you select this icon you can choose the format – choose PDF. You can now share the file using email, WhatsApp or other options.
Once your PDF file is ready, log in to your Cambrium account and upload the assignment on the same page you downloaded it from (use the submit assignment button).
That’s it! You can do all this from anywhere you like, as long as you have Internet access. Easy peasy – submitting an assignment has never been easier!
